Meagan K. Moodie is a licensed Colorado attorney and the founder of Moodie Family Law and Mediation, LLC. Practicing exclusively in family law, Meagan has represented hundreds of clients both inside and outside the courtroom in matters involving divorce, parenting time, child support, and more. With a strong focus on resolving conflict, she particularly enjoys serving as a mediator in Colorado, Parenting Coordinator/Decision-Maker (PC/DM), and Child Legal Representative (CLR), bringing creative, balanced solutions to even the most complex and high-conflict cases.
Meagan handles a full spectrum of family law matters—from divorce and post-decree modifications to protection orders, collaborative divorce, and cohabitation agreements. She is especially skilled in cases involving domestic violence, mental health challenges, substance use, interstate relocation, and nuanced financial matters such as business ownership, trust interests, income valuation, and common law marriage disputes. Meagan frequently collaborates with estate planning attorneys to draft thoughtful prenuptial and postnuptial agreements tailored to her clients’ long-term goals.
Meagan holds certifications as a family law attorney, family law mediator, Parenting Coordinator/Decision-Maker, and Child & Family Investigator. Her extensive training spans issues including domestic violence, trauma, child abuse, addiction, mental health, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ family concerns. Before founding Moodie Family Law, Meagan gained valuable legal experience with Colorado Legal Services and interning at Denver District Court. She has practiced immigration, criminal, and civil law, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the multifaceted issues that often intersect with family law.
Meagan is widely recognized as a leader in Colorado’s legal community. She serves as Chair of the CBA, DBA, and CBA-CLE Joint Management Committee, sat on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association for many years, and holds positions on both the Colorado Bar Association’s Board of Governors and Executive Council. She is a founding member of Colorado’s Family Law and Probate Inn of Court and was named a finalist for the Colorado Bar Association’s 2023 Gary McPherson Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year.
Her professional excellence has earned her ongoing recognition, including selection as a Colorado Super Lawyers® “Rising Star” from 2018 to 2024 and inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for 2023 and 2024.
